Carolina Kidney Associate's Beginnings
In 1973, Nephrology Specialist, Dr. Ronald Garber began his practice within A.J. Tannenbaum Medical Associates in Greensboro, North Carolina. The very next year, Dr. Garber established an outpatient dialysis unit inside Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
After leaving the Army in 1976, Dr. David Olin joined Dr. Garber at Tannenbaum Medical Associates. In 1983, they both left Tannenbaum Medical Associates, and founded Garber & Olin, M.D., P.A., as well as another outpatient dialysis unit- Greensboro Kidney Center.
In 1984, the practice was renamed Carolina Kidney Associates, P.A. and welcomed two new physicians, Drs. Richard Fox and James Deterding.
Since then, the practice has grown to over 20 MDs and Advanced Practice Providers, who have earned the trust and respect of their patients and the local medical community. Serving Greensboro and the surrounding areas for nearly four decades, you can count on Carolina Kidney Associates’ expert management in chronic kidney and end-stage renal disease, hypertension, post kidney transplant care and other kidney related disorders.
